At a Monday meeting of the Council of Greatfield an ordinance to set clocks back on March 31 to save daylight was introduced by Councilman Whitcomb and paused on first reading. Mayor Oliver opposed the measure. The session also named C W Collins as clerk of the purchasing board and discussed road and street contracts.

Ex Governor Murphy Dies at Palm Beach
Franklin Murphy former Governor of New Jersey died yesterday at Palm Beach after an abdominal operation. Newark resident founder of Murphy Varnish Company he served in the Thirteenth New Jersey Volunteers and led state roles before his 1901 1905 governorship. The State Senate adjourned in respect to his memory.
