The meeting featured Loomis outlining Congress and the legislative process, with focus on bills, committees, and the bonus issue. Westfield hosts its first art show at 515 Elm Street with thirty paintings by noted artists, alongside a report on the Westfield Tennis Club planning a busy season and new clubhouse enhancements.
ERT Fink alias Charles Black and accomplice Rob ert Miller held for grand jury after robbery at Kip residence on Washington Street. Officers Nelson Voss Montross captured suspect near Summit and Witshha with jewelry and silverware totaling several hundred dollars found on him. Police alerted area departments to aid in locating a second suspect.
A large audience attended a Colonial Tea at St. Pauls Parish House to raise funds for the church mortgage. The program featured piano solos by Miss Mary Garrison and Miss Elsie Kent, a poem by Miss Marion Scott, and a George Washington sketch, with refreshments served after.
Music committee of the First M E Church announces a February 26 program featuring a mixed quartet, contralto solos, and a duet including The Lord Is My Light. The event follows a well received February 12 performance of Rabekah and includes a sermon by Pastor Wright.
The Vassar Follies, staged by the New York Alumnae, will be produced again at Wartridge Auditorium Plainfield next Saturday night under the same management. The show has drawn praise from the press and offers an evening of music and fun. Adele Deattys of Plainfield heads the music and has written several songs and choruses.
The Westfield Radio Association met at 1 Prospect street with President Hobson in charge. Members discussed a public radio concert planned for late March and an upcoming lecture on the Crystal Telegraph technique. Urban spoke on the Second District Council exhibit at the Trotel Pennsylvania event in March. new applicants were admitted and the next meeting is set for Friday. A land sacrifice sale by the Stipiiaa Tiome Builders Pac of New York is advertised for Manor Park on February 22 and 26 from 11 am to 1 pm, rain or shine.
The Parent Teacher Association of Westfield will hold a meeting at the High School on March 8. Speaker Mr Philhower will discuss The Joint Midh School and the Need for One in Westfield. Public school supporters invited to attend.
