Colored thief caught after store robbery in town
Police, aided by Newark officers, arrest Nathaniel Booth, 24, of West Broad Street, within five hours of a $100 theft at Carlo Clement’s Spring Street store. Booth confessed, had $74 on hand and admitted taking $26 more to cover the loss. He is held by Newark Police Headquarters.

A meeting of Protestant church representatives in Prospect Street discussed a plan to convert the old Prospect Street School into a youth recreation center. They doubted fund raising success due to youth loyalties and costs, estimating at least 25 000 needed and urging nonsectarian, inclusive access for all faiths.
War Memorial Proposed for M E Ghurgh Brotherhood

A committee will oversee the project, and the fourteenth annual league dinner is set for March 4 with tickets on sale.
