Westfield School Board Proposes $97 955 Budget Request
The Westfield Board of Education adopted a budget for the coming year and sought $97 955 from the public at the annual school meeting on February 24. Five thousand dollars would cover promised teacher bonuses, with total school funding projected at 146 950 after gate receipts of 49 000 are counted. Salvation Army Holds North Avenue Mission Meetings
Beginning next Monday night the Salvation Army will hold a North Avenue Mission through February with meetings every Monday and Friday. Adjutant and Mrs. Jones will sing next Monday night as Lieut Livingston and a corps of twenty workers preside. A large delegation from Elizabeth is expected, and a street meeting is planned at Frutehey's corner before the service.

Chief Rosecrans Heads Westfield Police Thirteen Years
Chief John C. Rosecrans marks his thirteenth year on the Westfield Police Force with quiet offices and well wishes from friends. Born 1873 Port Jervis New York, he moved to Brooklyn then joined the local force February 6 1908 rising to Chief after service under four mayors and commissioners. He lives on Elmer Street with his wife and eight children and belongs to the Patrolmen Benevolent Association Elka and the State Police Chiefs Association.

Captain F. C. Mills of the American Red Cross will lecture at Westfield Fire Headquarters at 3 PM Saturday on life saving and resuscitation for electric shock gas suffocation and drowning.
