Westfield residents will view the Community Christmas Tree placed on the Plaza by the Westfield Civic Association. The tree will glow with colored lights and be lit every evening through the holiday week. A Christmas Sing is planned for 8 p.m. on Christmas night at the plaza, led by Mr. Harry, with familiar carols and songs. William Willoughby cut and erected the tree from the big woods, wiring by 3.0 Tobin, and J.B. Wilson oversees the ceremonies.

Elaborate plans by the Entertainment Committee of Westfield Golf Club for New Year celebrations include a special New Year’s Eve dance with new features and numbers. The club will also offer an unusual supper, expect full dining room capacity, and hold open house on New Year’s afternoon from two to eight o clock for members and friends with refreshments and music. County budget trimmed to 1920 level with slight hike
The Freeholders’ Finance committee reports a 1920 county budget increase over 1919 of only 22 885 90 and notes higher receipts from deeds fines and clerk offices helped hold taxes down. Total appropriation rises to 844 839 with 10 960 added for hospitals in Elizabeth Plainfield Summit and Rahway totaling 76 000. A public hearing is set for December 31 with adoption slated January 1 at noon after any objections are resolved.
