Washington reports a message to Mr and Mrs Salter Storrs Clark Sr of 336 Mountain Ave that their son Salter Storrs Clark Jr a Private in the 311th Regiment 78th Division was killed in action on November 1 He went to Camp Dix in February 1918 sailed for England in May landed in France May 1 and fought near Verdun through October His age 28 a Yale College graduate 1917 and Westfield High School 1908 He worked at M A I Company Prospect St and for two years at Guarantee Trust Co New York.

Clark Family in World War I Service and Loss
Private Clark, son of Salter Storrs Clark and Mrs. Clark, served in France with the Iican Ambulance Field Service before joining Fontainebleau artillery training. He joined the 28th Regiment of the French Army and died May 29, 1918 near Solasons. Another brother, Carolus, served with the American Field Service before it became part of the U S Army, then returned home after a year. Hagar Clark, who married Miss Hubert, lives in Brooklyn.
