Italian Section Reports Infantile Paralysis Case
A two and a half year old girl, daughter of Mr and Mrs John Arganzione at 623 Central Avenue, was diagnosed with infantile paralysis. Dr G S Laird and other physicians arranged isolation at Elizabeth hospital. A strict quarantine on the block was imposed and Italian language circulars distributed to enforce health rules for residents returning from vacations. No other cases were reported in Westfield or the county.

Union Services Move Between Local Churches
The Baptist and Congregational churches alternate Sunday morning union services for two weeks per location. Rev. C. T. Children are taught by Miss Florence and Superintendent Miss Filerce in gardens, basket weaving, carpentry, sewing and knitting. Former resident dies in Yonkers veteran of Civil War
Colonel George E. Starr a Yonkers resident and noted lawyer died at his Yonkers home after a short illness. Born January 8 1840 in Rochester he served in the 104th New York Volunteers and escaped Libby Prison Macon and other spots before beginning law practice in 1866. He survived by three daughters and his widow Amanda McNair Starr.
