A Requiem for Summer and a Rocky Mountain Vigil

A poetic lament opens with summer fading as nature bids farewell while Norman, a bold passenger, thwarts pursuers on a stagecoach bound for the Rockies. He earns fame for felling masked robbers, earning praise from a grateful inn crowd and villagers. Later, Special Correspondence describes Zebulon Vance’s public visit, praising his speech on reform, tariffs, and governance, and concluding with admiration for his long service and call to honest voting.
