Home-made tobacco fertilizers tested with farm-made composts
A North Carolina agricultural bulletin describes two tobacco fertilizer formulas using dissolved animal bone, kainit, nitrate of soda, sulphate of ammonia, and other ingredients. Trials show cost reductions and high nutrient content with farm-made composts, including a sample analysis yielding 2.20 percent phosphoric acid and 32 percent potash.
