Douthit of Rockdale Remembered as Noble Citizen

Special correspondence recalls Dr J E Douthit once of Statesville, a surgeon in the army, later a druggist in Rockdale. He died after years of service to the sick, leaving a widow, an aged mother, a sister and five sons. Earnest, his eldest son, continues the drug store work. The community marks his funeral with a large congregation and mourning.
