A large crowd met in the Opera House to nominate a municipal ticket for the city election. S H Smith and E E Gray stood for Mayor with Gray winning 89 votes to 162 for Smith. W A Whitaker was named Graded School Commissioner. Ward tickets followed, plus a Democratic City Executive Committee chosen by ward.
