Fort Bend residents honor local trades and March editor note
A long reader letter from Fort Strengthville extols local crafts and shopkeepers in a nostalgic town stroll. The piece names Fanny and Gray, J A Martin, Squire Jenkins, Vogler Horn, Dr Benbow, and others, praising their trades and community ties while mockingly critiquing editor’s readers. It ends with a playful signature Merporsous Mat from East Bend dated April 1, 1884.
