Collyer notes recount chilly nights and busy week with sales at Kirby's, a church fund benefit, and a quiet wedding of Jesse Kessler to Frances Glenn. Visits span Salt Lake, Stockrange, Peoria, and nearby farms as townsfolk attend sales and family gatherings.
Ted Yewell sports a new red wheel buggy. Miss Effie Snyder spent Sunday at home. Geo and Henry Butcher spent Saturday in Wa-Keeney. George Spillman of Buffalo is visiting Hatch's. Mrs. Wilson Whisler visited the county seat Tuesday. Henry Hochings remains very ill with typhoid pneumonia. Mrs. Nora Hays remains confined at Ellsworth hospital.
Cattle were shipped by J. A. Rich and J. G. Hixson on Monday. Judd Vetter and wife are due home Saturday. A. R. Philpott threshing in Hays neighborhood. Coal sold at Ross and Waldo. Tent meetings run through Saturday night. Two baptisms by Rev. White at Spring Creek Sunday. Rev. White left Tuesday for Florida to do evangelistic work. F. O. Gleason from Council Bluffs was in Ogallah Tuesday and Wednesday tending his wheat crop. Lecture at the M E church by Rev. Van Haafter drew a large audience and praise.
Miss Libbie Jewell visits Hays while N H Giffen travels to Ellis for Enoch Nelson. Nelson plans to move to Ness County soon. Riverside suffers a butter shortage due to too many cream separators and political jabs about Grover Cleveland. Oren Joseph leaves for Goldfield Nevada to join his brother Thomas as our town contemplates growth.
Millinery goods advertised at cost amid town events. The fall sessions of township Sunday School conventions are set across Wa-Keeney Glencoe Wilcox Ogallah Franklin Riverside Banner with programs planned. Wa-Keeney on September 29 features talks on normal work in home schools and primary plans.
