Plowing Test Highlights New Gasoline Engine by Steinberger
Last Wednesday in western Kansas C Steinberger hosted farmers to view a new gasoline powered plowing engine built with assistance from C A Carlson. The test showed five disc plows pulled at up to four miles per hour with simple lever controls and possible uses for running corn shellers and feed grinders. The machine weighs about 5000 pounds, costs 3600 to 800 depending on size, and promises economic advantages over steam plow outfits requiring four men and two teams.
