Miss Nina Neff and Roy E. Wilds united at home of the bride’s parents in Wa-Keeney, officiated by Rev. Wade. Neff, a former Wa-Keeney student and teacher, is described as an excellent young woman. Wilds, a farmer, will reside on a Banner neighborhood farm.

Drowned Laborer Frank Gross Found in Big Creek
The death of Frank Rhoades, known as Frank Gross, a 27 year old Austrian native, was ruled accidental drowning. His body was recovered Friday by Cal Keyser near Hockman Crossing in a willow clump, after he disappeared Thursday. Coroner Ufford and Undertaker S J Straw handled the burial with services by Rev Wade at Wa Keeney Cemetery.

Grants one and one third rate for teachers assembly
Topeka Kansas September 24 1919 the United States Railway Administration grants the Kansas State Teachers Association a one and one third round trip rate for teachers attending the fifty sixth annual session on November 6 7 and 8 at Topeka Pittsburg Salina and Wichita. Rate valid November 3 to November 8 with return by November 12 requires a signed attendance certificate and validation by a Railway Administration special agent with further details to follow.

Abandoned Ford Found on Braddy Farm North of Town
A Ford car abandoned on the Braddy farm Tuesday night was seen by F. W. Staatz and later moved by O. W. Braddy and R. I. Pickering to town, with repleven papers in progress. The engine numbers are unreadable, no license tag, two tires missing, and the car is nearly new. A rainbow snake in formaldehyde remains a curiosity. Mr. and Mrs. Rhoden returned from a Lincoln trip noting heavy rain and washouts affecting travel. corn and land outlook appear similar to local expectations.

Sheriff captures thief and teen faces reform school
Deputy Pax arrested George Van Zant south of town on a charge of grand larceny after a theft spree ending with $25 cash and a Colt revolver gone from the Glen Jones homestead. Van Zant, about eighteen, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to an indeterminate term from one to five years at the Hutchinson reform school, with transport by Sheriff DeBoer. Local ranch workers housed him briefly before the case moved to court and his mother’s birthday tea drew the town into an uneasy quiet moment.
