Rex Clemons who edits the Independent now owns and publishes the Courant. He is nearly disabled after a mashed hand from last Friday while operating the press. The note also reports the birth of a daughter at 10 p.m. on the 13th, a seven-pound babe attended by Dr. Rogers, both mother and baby doing well and the newsroom buoyant despite the injury.
