Fine Display Of Live Stock At Trego County Fair 1921

Purebred stock breeders of Trego County present a strong exhibit at the pair with doubled livestock capacity. Cattle and horses show quality, including Shorthorn Galloway and Hereford various entries, plus beef calves. The agricultural display is smaller than hoped but supplemented by merchant goods and garden produce. The WaKeeney band plays while free acts and baseball games draw crowds. The Baptist ladies supply meals, and the mini oil well display attracts interest.

Open House for New School Building in District 1

Public invited to inspect the new school building from 1 to 6 p m on Saturday and Sunday. District No 1 plans the ground break and asks residents to come see the project and review its progress. The School Board issues the call.

Sterling swimmer challenges age 64 at Lowell Park

F F Heckman of Sterling writes that he has learned to swim and will challenge any man in Whiteside County aged 64 on his next birthday. The trial will be at Lowell Park on August 25 at 10 a m with a $25 donation to Lowell Park for the winner. Dixon notes mention Presbyterian and M E church services and a Mission Festival with both English and German services.

Three towns vie for oil boom near WaKeeney and Collyer
