Dry windy days and horse disease impact local farms

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. W D Austin was on the sick list. Albert Krhut left for Wa Kee Ney to attend high school. The Voda school was postponed for two weeks due to warm weather and the fair. Mr. and Mrs. Nejd visited Mr. and Mrs. John Bordovsky. Austin lost a horse to an unknown disease, another horse is sick, and state veterinarians are working without relief. Farmers report several horses down with the disease. Fred and Adolph Schwanbeck went to Robt Kirks to treat these horses. Mesiam es Cox and Downs attended Labor Day at Ogallah. Stanley Austin pitches for Jin Zeman’s machine, Chas Kristof made a business trip to Collyer.

Big Creek Horses Suffer in Heat and Disease Outbreak

Hot dry windy conditions grip Big Creek as horses grow ill and many die. Authorities blame stunted weeds while some horses not exposed still fall ill.
