Big Greek Wheat Outlook and Local Happenings

Dry warm conditions prevail with farmers finishing field work for the year. C M Loflin reportedly pursues a large land deal. A self-inflicted gunshot in Ellis last Sunday is noted with few details. Johnnie Herbert and Fred Egger work for L G Johnson stacking feed. Ellis telephone lines to be put on poles. Mr and Mrs C M Loflin with family and Mr and Mrs John Herbert attended the Nemcek wedding, where sixteen kegs of beer fifteen dressed geese one beer and four fat hogs were reportedly consumed with dancing and cards continuing until Wednesday evening.

Bosna Awaits Holt Dance Amid Fine Wheat Weather

In Bosna and surrounding area plans are set for a big Holt dance while the wheat stands fine. Local residents note a light vacation period with several traveling to Kansas City for hog sales. Miss Lucy Boice and Miss Mabel Holmes visit Bosna during vacations. Mrs Carson and Mrs Biehler visit relatives south of the river and in Gove county. The switchboard opens 7 to 8 am and 5 to 6 pm unless urgent. A chicken pie social at Banner Friday night drew high spirits.

Library Notes Promise More Shelf Space and Events

A local library announces additional shelf room and a forthcoming complete list of new books next week. Mrs A J Ellermeyter recently donated The Prospector. An entertainment is planned after the holidays to aid the library. The new book case includes juvenile selections for youths. The Spoilers and The Northerner are overdue. please return them by Saturday November 30.
