The marriage of Arthur Cockrell to Miss Julia South was solemnized at Hays on Thursday evening in June. Miss South teaches in the city school and will reside in Wa-Keeney after a Denver visit. Also announced is the marriage of Miss Viola Mae Pinch to Mr. Aarop in Trego. They wed in Denver on June 14 and will make their home in Wa-Keeney by July 1. The World notes the couple’s new life and honors their families.
A Tuesday afternoon storm swept across Saline near Lilid ranch and moved ten to fifteen miles long and five to seven miles wide. Hail damaged wheat fields with some losses total and others only partially touched. Named victims include J. M. Binker, Wm. J. Simpson, Julius Billman and Julius Garries. most losses insured as adjusters rush in. Only the southwestern area escaped destruction. Storm also affected Hugh Tiball farm and Bilis county farms with damages to hay and buildings. Insurance agents report unprecedented business.
