Dry Rock light and the boy who saved the beacon
In midwinter on Galveston Island, Sevare, the crippled grandson of Pietro, discovers a planned wrecking at Dry Rock. He rallies to light his grandfather’s beacon to guide the Star of Texas, battles rising tides and wreckers, and endangers his life to save the vessel and harbor, ending his vigil with the ship safely entering the harbor.
