Memorial Day services by Wa Keeney lodges announced with public lectures at the Court House at 2 PM and invitation to attend. A. W. Heyl and H. E Tripp sign as officers. Harry E Burnham a Wa Keeney senior engineer drowned in the Kaw River near Lawrence while in a canoe with fellow student Amos Johnson. Johnson saw Burnham fall, searched the stream with help from Dr Naismith and others, and the body was recovered upstream after a prolonged effort. Funeral arrangements followed as the university community mourns a popular athlete and student leader.

The Ogallah Township Sunday School Convention met at the ME church in Ogallah on Sunday June 1 1913. The program included song service prayer and Bible reading by Rev. C M Reed. Reports from the State Convention and various schools were given and officers for the ensuing year elected. Benediction by E Lindburg.
An advertisement touts Bucklen’s Arnica Salve for ulcers boils eczema and fever sores promising fast relief. It cites Mrs. Bruce Jones of Birmingham Alabama who was cured of a nine month ulcer in two weeks and recommends the product with a 2 cent price and endorsement by W. W. Gibson.
