Decoration Day Observed by Collyer Veterans

Decoration Day was observed at Collyer with the remnants of the Collyer G A R post paying tribute to departed comrades. The old G A R hall was sold, exercises held in the Baptist church with Rev Harper delivering the address, music from the Morland band, and declamations praised.

Wa-Keeney Boys Triumph Over Normal in Fast Game

Wa-Keeney High School defeated Normal 3 to 0 in a brisk baseball game at Hays with two unearned runs in the sixth inning. Clyde Rice and Bear misplays plus two two-baggers helped Wa-Keeney score while Smee dominated on the mound. Umpire Mike Merrill called Smee the best pitcher he ever stood behind.
