Train 109 Wrecked Near Town on Soft Track
The Union Pacific Fast Train No 109 wrecked six miles east of town at 3 15 AM when a tender broke from the engine after hitting soft track. No passengers were killed though about fifteen were injured. The chair car and smoker were saved by a wedge shape on the end of the cars and passengers were evacuated by the conductor and railroad staff. Drs O Donnell Lord Jones Herrick Davidson Blake and others assisted at the scene with minor injuries reported.

Heroes Honored Decoration Day in Wa Keeney
Wa Keeney and nearby counties observed Decoration Day with speeches by Rev S L Allison and Rev Green, a Memorial Day parade to the cemetery led by the Commercial Club and G A R members, and graves decorated. Western Farmers Meeting at Hays June 7 and 8

A. S. Peacock states he is willing to continue as Probate Judge if the people of Trego county desire it, pending the Republican nomination. F. J. Turner, foreman of the Ogallah branch of the State Agricultural College, attended a Trego County Institute officers meeting in Wa-Keenee. Turner reports progress at the Forestry station as Thomas county supports a Socialist ticket and other counties follow.

Mathews Biehler wedding linked in Kansas home ceremony
A quiet wedding on Wednesday evening June 1 1910 united Myra Biehler of Bosna Kansas and Clyde E Matthews of Quinter Kansas at the Biehler home with Rev Harper of Grainfield officiating. The bride wore white silk Princess and carried roses while bridesmaid wore Rose pink Tussah silk with carnations and roses. Gifts included a silver set. The couple will reside in Quinter Kansas where a home awaits.
