WaKeeney camp meeting opens August seven
The Layman’s Holiness Association of America camp meets at WaKeeney from August 7 for ten days. Rev J G Morrison of Jamestown North Dakota and Rev H T Davis of Wilmore Kentucky lead workers with singing by Rev Earl Davis and Lester Nixon. Four services daily. If WaKeeney residents show interest the site may move next year.

Jumped From Train Leg Broken After West Wakkeeny Shot
Joe Comelli of Woodbury Vermont was on a freight train near Wakkeeny when shots were fired. He jumped to the ground fearing for his life, breaking both bones in his right leg. He received first aid then was moved to Hays hospital for care and is said to be progressing.

Local residents plan mountain trips and hospital visits
From the Collyer Advance: C. E. Downie and family returned from a mountain vacation Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Wilds left last Thursday for the mountains for at least two weeks. Bert Tilton took his brother Clarence to Hays hospital last Saturday. Dr. Blake placed him under Dr. Burnett. L. Larson returned home Sunday for a vacation and will attend Frontier Days in Cheyenne before resuming work. Sam Kessler came home from Hays hospital last Saturday by jitney and is reported to be much improved.
