Alien women voting rules set for Kansas

Widespread questions reach Attorney General and federal officials about foreign born women's voting rights in Kansas ahead of the August primary and November elections. Four main propositions define status: a married woman with a naturalized husband may vote. if the husband is not yet naturalized she cannot vote. a single woman may naturalize and vote. a single woman who marries a citizen becomes a citizen with full rights. Additional considerations for an American woman who loses rights if her husband naturalizes are noted. The issue affects several thousand foreign born women in Kansas.
