Income tax campaign to begin in Wichita on January

Collector W H L Pepperell announced officers will start from headquarters January 2 to assist residents in filing 1917 income tax returns. An auditor will be in Wa Keeney January 7 to 10 at the courthouse to help unmarried earners over 1000 and married earners over 2000 determine tax obligations. He warned slackers and stressed most merchants, professionals and farmers will owe tax and should seek guidance to avoid penalties.
