The Ladies of the Good Will society gathered at Mrs W N Larrabee's home on Wednesday afternoon. After the session she served chicken pie, enjoyed by all. The Presbyterian Church Woman's Missionary Society will hold an annual praise service with lantern slides on the Philippines next Sunday evening February 25 at 7 30. All are invited.
The community mourns Mrs Bertha Pearl Lister born Russell who died February 21 in WaKeeney after months of poor health. She leaves three children, a husband Frank M Lister, four sisters and one brother. Funeral at the Presbyterian church followed by burial in WaKeeney Cemetery. The family will live with brother in Wamego until caring arrangements are made.
A Kansas senator distributes circulars offering agricultural periodicals and a new fountain turnip seed package to constituents under franking privileges. The turnip allegedly grows large with little drought impact, suggesting value for farmers in dry seasons. Also items list local ads for sale and services, including a medical eye specialist visit in Salina on March 7 1917.
The annual meeting of The Trego County Co-Operative association stockholders will be held at the courthouse in Wa-Keensy at 1 o'clock sharp on Monday afternoon February 26, 1917. All stockholders are urged to be present.
