Local Man Dies After Tree Accident in Las Animas
The sketch's subject died Tuesday in Las Animas Colorado at 3 20 p m following injuries from a fall when a large limb struck the ladder he stood on while trimming shade trees. He suffered a hip joint fracture and a second fracture eight inches lower. After initial improvement he died next day from heart and liver trouble. Born May 1853 he married December 2 1874 and left a wife two daughters in Kansas and Las Animas relatives. His body rests in Las Animas Cemetery awaiting resurrection.

Mrs Eva P Jones presented first grade pupils in reading and a high school quartet performed. English instruction by Miss Hoisington drew earnest attention. The program included readings from Verdis and Il Trovatore, piano and guitar pieces, and framing advice from Prof Reppert for schoolroom pictures.
