Holidays and homecomings fill Wa-Keeney and nearby towns with visitors from Collyer Colby Topeka and Topeka. Notes on residents returning from travels Christmas observances church services and local gatherings mark the season as busy with family visits and community events across Trego and Hamilton counties.
A holiday week note records Voda school’s vacation and Christmas visits by J Menebeck of Quinter and Ralph and Charley Kristof. Charley enjoyed a nine watches and cattle town shopping. guests at a Christmas dinner hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Thiel in Collyer included numerous locals, totaling 29 attendees before departure.
Miss Hattie Larrabee returns home for vacation and Christmas revelry fills the town. Families—Clawson, Hatch, Yewell, Biebler, and Haas—enjoy visits, while Eva Hoffman travels to Smith Center. A Downer ground ball game charms locals, and a Tuesday evening surprise honors Miss Mayme with music, tokens, and a farewell breakfast.
A large Christmas gathering at Mrs. C C Ridgway’s home, with C H Benson’s death mentioned and Margland entertaining four children. C D Vetter hosted relatives and friends as the Oxallab Christmas entertainment drew a record crowd. A school children program completed the event.

Rumors say a Chicago construction firm backs funding, surveys, and bond voting, with a target of 87500 by subscription to cover surveys and election costs. If built, Missouri Pacific may operate, possibly with Chicago Northwestern influence.
