Death of Mrs W H Fronce at Jacob Heckman ranch

Mrs. W G Fronce died December 14 1905 at the Jacob Heckman ranch seven miles north of town after a short illness. Born May 18 1889 in Howell county Missouri she moved to Kansas in 1900 with her parents. She married January 2 1908 to Wm H France and was active in Prairie Glen Sunday school. She leaves a husband, parents, five sisters and three brothers. World expresses sympathy to the bereaved.

The Presbyterian Sabbath school will hold a Christmas tree entertainment for children on Thursday Christmas Eve December 24 in the church. A tree and a musical program will compose the features and seven o clock is the hour to begin. Everybody is cordially welcome.

Settlers Rush Wallace County School Lands After Lease Ruling

Following the attorney general’s ruling that all existing leases on western Kansas school lands are invalid, a rush of settlers occupies Wallace county lands. Settlers must reside a year and invest $100 in improvements before appraisal and final proof. Purchase requires a down payment of one twentieth and twenty years to pay the balance at 6 percent. This opens thousands of acres for settlement and promises rapid occupancy.
