Manhattan Kansas July 24 1916 a fly repellent gives only temporary relief for dairy cows in handling feeding and traps. Professor J B Rich of Kansas State Agricultural College notes many cheap repellents exist and describes mixtures including laundry soap resin kerosene oil and a rancid lard preparation. Three applications weekly coat the hair with resin to deter flies.
