R S Musgrave dies in Excelsior Springs age 40
Robert Stephenson Musgrave died at Excelsior Springs Missouri on April 14 after a health trip. Born March 25 1869 in Gardner Grundy County he was 40 years 20 days old. He married Edna Smith of Trinidad Colorado January 2 1897 and had four children three living Robert Minnie Ruth. He lived in Trego County for years, trusted and respected, baptized Episcopal, survived by wife three children a father mother two sisters seven brothers. Funeral held April 18 at Ogallah conducted by Rev Bowen with Woodmen from Ellis Wa Keeney attending. Interment Ogallah Cemetery. World extends sympathy.

High School Notes At T. C. H. S and Oakley Game
Arthur Cockrell was absent with a sprained ankle. Last Saturday T. C. H. S. beat Oakley 6 to 0 and plan to meet them again next Saturday. Seniors presented their program with Edith Scott and Ethel Carpenter piano duet, Hat tie Larrabee moon habit, Edna Mummert Pole discovery, Irene Cloud speech, Ethel Carpenter address, and song Two Little Flies by the class.

Market report from April 20 1909 shows a draggy run of 11000 steer head with heavy steers hardest to sell and steady prices for paper cattle. Top steers 6.60 today vs 6.75 last week and Chicago top at 6.95. Hogs strong to higher with top 7.25 and porkers 6.30 to 7.05. Cows and heifers mixed, stockers firm yesterday but slow today, lambs 7.90 to 8.00, mutton 4.80 to 5.50, goats 3.15 to 4.50.

Youth in Morland seeks governor parole plan
Mrs. E. H. Hunter of Republic City Kansas visits Morland this week hoping for parole for her son Wm Hunter from the state reformatory. He pled guilty to a statutory offense with D. M. Selzer's daughter and received an indeterminate term at the February court term. Local residents reportedly favored signing a petition to urge gubernatorial clemency.
