The county convention in Trego met at the court house on Saturday March 31 1906 at 2 pm. Chairman Purcell led the session with Hudson Harlan temporary chair and H S Givier secretary. Committees on permanent organization credentials and resolutions were named. Delegates and alternates for state, congressional, and judicial conventions were elected with instructed delegates to Reeder for judge and Reeder for Congress. Cattle receipts reach 24 000 head in two days with strong showing yesterday but weak demand today. March beet steers volume up 49 percent amid bad weather reducing shipments to 41 000 from 55 000 last year. Hog supply 15 000 head the heaviest in months with steady prices near winter highs. Prices vary across cattle and hogs with steers at 4.75 to 5.95, heifers and cows weaker, stockers and feeders quiet, and wool prices aiding lambs and mutton prospects.
