Petitions circulate in every Kansas county favoring Cyrus Leland for Governor with strong support from veterans and Shawnee County voters. The Western Times argues Leland’s record is clean, his popularity rising after populist attacks, and predicts a landslide over Stubbs if he wins the August primary. A second note on Foley’s Honey and Tar claims a druggist refund guarantee for cough cures.
The Ellsworth district assignments were announced after the Salina M E conference last week. Clergy named include T. 5. Brown P E Banner J N Lee Brownell and several supplied by others for Claflin Ellis Gove Grainfield Hays Hill City Holyrood Hoxie Kanopolis LaCrosse Monument Moreland Oakley Orion Palco Plainville Ransom Russell Russell Springs Sharron Springs Wa Keeney Wilson and Winona among others with several to be supplied.
