Man Injures Self on Railroad Near Peshastin
A man named Van Cleave attempted suicide by shooting himself on a railroad near Peshastin four miles west. He was blinded in one eye and badly injured in the other, taken to Leavenworth’s Dr. Hoxsey hospital, and stated he suffered appendicitis and other troubles. He said he has a brother in Columbus Indiana. Doctors fear little chance of recovery and potential total blindness if he survives.

E T Nichols son of a Great Northern vice president spent a month in Wenatchee Valley and completed the purchase of the Herbert Stearns ten acre orchard tract north of Spring water Avenue for 21000 cash. The trees are six years old and may yield 3000 boxes of apples this year. Nichols plans to make the valley his home and has begun remodeling the residence.
