Levi G. Monroe former Spokane Chamber of Commerce secretary and noted publicity man has been chosen secretary of the first Canadian apple show Vancouver plans to hold the event in the fall with $20,000 subscribed. Monroe helped make the Spokane show nationally prominent.

Local police seize illegal liquor shipment from Leavenworth
Officers captured a Japanese man returning from Leavenworth with four gallons of whisky and a dozen bottles of beer. He attempted to hide the liquor in gunny sacks and was caught at the depot. The wet goods filled Judge Palmer's office until trial for liquor law violations. Miss Edna Milner arrived home for a Sunday stay.
