Explosion kills 25 workers at Utah cement quarry
At Devil's Slide thirty miles east of Ogden Utah twenty five workmen were killed by an explosion at the Union Portland Cement works quarry. The blast toppled telegraph lines and cut communications. Most victims were Japanese and Greek. A special train with doctors and nurses was sent to the scene.

Serious Wreck at Harrington Delays Great Northern Train
A west bound freight train No 1147 crashed into the Oriental Limited at Harrington at 6 30 yesterday causing the wreck that delayed Great Northern passenger No 1 and Burlfton’s arrival between 7 and 8 pm The impact pitched passengers from berths and sent the train into panic but no one was seriously hurt The freight engineer whistled for a clear road as he could not stop in time and the tender mail car was buried in wreckage three freight cars were thrown across the track and the collision may have been mitigated by the passenger train backing into the siding Only passengers and crew suffered masr ' shaken up but injuries were not serious The engineers on both trains saw the collision and did their best to avert it
