Trains Delayed Hours by Snow in Cascades and Midwest

Snow slides in the Cascades seriously delayed several trains. Nos. 4 2 44 and 46 arrived late yesterday and this morning. Severe storms across Minnesota Dakota and Montana caused eastbound delays. Blizzards subsided but Montana Dakota Missouri saw heavy snowfall and a 36 hour blizzard in Missouri.

County Jail Empty After Transfer to Penitentiary

S. E. Oakes, once idle in the county jail, was moved today to the penitentiary by Guard N. S. Lovell. Oakes arrived with the Norris & Rowe circus and faced a criminal charge that kept him jailed. He fought to avoid the longer sentence.

Dr. McCoy returning from Badger mountain cites several active diphtheria cases in the area and closes the schoolhouse until Dr. Leslie of Waterville, Douglas county health officer, can investigate.
