Wenatchee seeks representation on the Alaska Yukon Pacific exposition commission. Walter M. Olive is proposed to join seven members in charge of the million dollar expo budget. Roosevelt Accepts La Follette Plan for Rail Rates Appraisal

President Roosevelt adopts the La Follette proposal calling for a full valuation of railroad property before rate regulation can proceed. He directs the Interstate Commerce Commission to investigate management practices and suggest legislative amendments. The move aims to curb overcapitalization and improve federal supervision of railroad finances.

Million Acres Opened to Entry on Rosebud Reservation

Norfolk reports Indian Inspector James McLaughlin secured a federal plan to open nearly 1 million acres in Tripp County South Dakota. Indians receive 6 per acre for early settlement land 4.5 later and 2.5 thereafter with school lands included. All untaken lands to be auctioned after four years. Also noted is a Chorus club musical at Baptist church on February 19 to aid the W C T U.
