Mr and Mrs A Z Wells returned from Seattle where he spoke with about 50 prominent Seattleites who plan to attend the Wenatchee Commercial club dedication. They will come with their wives in a special car. At the Arctic club luncheon officials invited Wenatchee members to enjoy club courtesies. The Arctic club bulletin notes Wenatchee will dedicate February 11 with four strong representatives. Wells, a Wenatchee Pioneer, says outside praise warms him as a business leader.

Victory for Mrs. Kettler in Idaho mining suit
The Wood River Weekly Times reports Mrs. Louis Kettler of Hailey Idaho won a legal victory against the Independence group of mines over a claim that could hold about 15 feet of ore. The ore’s gross value is estimated up to a million dollars. The case remains tied up by court orders pending final adjudication, delaying shipment and exploitation.

Portland February 1 N G Thighen chief clerk at Hotel Portland was assaulted when discharged bell boy Sterling Page hurled half a pound of cayenne pepper into his face. Attempted C P Wreck Foiled Near Chehalis
Tacoma February 1 1910 an apparent deliberate wrecking attempt occurred on the Northern Pacific passenger line from Tacoma to Portland at Chehalis. The engine entered an open switch colliding with a string of construction cars carrying a bridge crew. The train crawled to the station and narrowly avoided a disaster. Three crewmen were injured. The switches were set for the siding and the lock and switch light removed.
