Oak Park players are en route to Seattle for a game with Portland. J J Hill greeted by club members as the team travels west for the matchup.
Chicago reports money raised and transport arranged for Oak Park to Seattle for a Christmas football game. Great Northern and Northern Pacific waivers offered, with Patterson appealing for funds. Negotiations include discounted round trip fares and sleeper rates, as officials hope the game proceeds.
Spokane’s legislative delegation plans cooperation with King County on state redistricting and legislative apportionment. They favor grouping Spokane County with northern counties Stevens Ferry Okanogan and Chelan for one congressional district to boost Spokane representation. The county seeks about two more representatives and at least one senator, aligning with King County members.
Beverly Washington December 20 The Beverly Investment company begun work on a 5,000,000 gallon pumping plant. Three officers spent days reviewing the project with H Day Hanford irrigation engineer from Seattle. The first unit will cover 1,400 acres and be in water by next spring. Construction proceeds on the building for the cross compound Corliss engine. Concrete will house the machinery and wooden pipes will deliver water to each tract for domestic and irrigation use.
E N Cooke and his two sons plan to resume mining at the Entiat property four miles up the valley while managing an 800 acre dairy ranch nearby. The tunnel has reached about 100 feet, with vein prospects developing as stringers indicate approaching ore. nearby Rex mine shows similar activity.
Occasional rain in the western portion tonight and Wednesday. The eastern portion will see rain or snow. The advisory notes unsettled conditions across the state with precipitation likely through midweek.

Joseph M. Snow former state highway commissioner will appear in Thurston county court Tuesday January 3 to enter his plea to a charge of embezzling 2142 from the state. Prosecuting Attorney John M. Wilson received Snows bond of 2500 and the sheriff is returning the warrant.
Vancouver ships report the steamer Prince George freed from a shoal at the harbor entrance. The vessel appears undamaged and reached port under its own steam as tugs assisted.
A. J. Linville announces Red Apple Real Estate will move from the Hotel Elman building to the Wenatchee Hotel on January 1. The firm will occupy the room just north of the hotel entrance, with A. J. Linville as head and his sons as associates.
Entiat Washington growers organized at a December 17 meeting in the schoolhouse to draft a constitution and by laws for a cooperative fruit marketing effort. A second gathering is set for December 31 to establish a permanent organization.
At Rock Lake North Dakota editor Treadwell of the Ripples fired twice after a whiskey theft dispute. Geo Diggins was shot in the lung and Charles Bills in the neck. Bills was accidentally struck while Diggins denied taking the whiskey and refused to yield keys. Treadwell was arrested.
In Chicago on December 20 John Donnelly, a garment factory driver, was shot probably fatally as his wagon was sprayed with bullets. Employers tell May or Busse negotiations will now bypass the mayor's settlement committee and be made directly with the workers.
A House resolution by Representative Rainey calls for a five member committee to investigate Theodore Roosevelt’s railroad transportation expenses during his presidency. The probe would examine payments by Roosevelt or his agents and contracts with the Pennsylvania Railroad and other railroads, plus related transportation demands.
Governor Hay will be represented by Attorney General W P Bell at a Portland conference on December 22 and a Columbia trip December 27 to draft a lasting border agreement between Oregon and Washington following a recent Supreme Court boundary ruling. The two states have since discussed terms for ratification by their legislatures.
West Newton Pennsylvania December 20 three miners were shot during a riot at the Osborn mine near town as deputy sheriffs guarded the property. None of the miners were killed and the strike activity prompted security measures at the site.
James J. Hill, president of the Great Northern board, tells Wenatchee Commercial Club that a Wenatchee to Pateros line will be built as soon as money is available. Hill stresses storehouse growth and recalls 18 000 stockholders, including 7000 women, with dividends of 700 per 10 000.
