Merino Ban Body Demands Removal At NSW Meeting
New South Wales sheep breeders on Saturday night demanded the lifting of the embargo on merino exports. Mr Jody of the Provident attacked the policy, warning continued bans would shrink NSW studs and risk a monopoly by a few big breeders. He argued the embargo harms wool markets abroad and Australia’s industry, urging export duties to curb overexporting with support from other states.
