Drowned Man Recovered From Bell River Near Mumby

Wellington and Dubbo police recovered the body of Martin Arch 149 of Bellet near Narrabri after a river drowning on Monday afternoon. He had worked at Narrooga Park, Mumii, for twelve months. Companions Cooper and Arch were repairing a bank patch when illness struck Arch. Cooper dived for the body but failed. Police continued the search from dawn to dusk Tuesday and recovered the body about 300 yards downstream near the Headgate. An inquest will be held on a date yet to be fixed.
