Large Group Files Honor Discharges For 23 Soldiers

Honorable discharges for 23 servicemen were filed in the county office during July and August. The list includes T-4 Dalton R. Honeycutt of Dordie r, discharged from Fort Bliss with campaigns across Algeria to Central Europe and multiple medals. Other names include Sg. Lawrence V. Dunn, Pvt Will J. Cristoph, Pte Harold R. Hunt, Pfc Sidney V. Kirklin, and several others with overseas service and various decorations.

Mr and Mrs Bill Tate of California left Monday to return home after visiting with his parents Mr and Mrs A E Tate. Cpl James Gardner is home from overseas duty in Africa on a 30 day leave. He and family were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Pat Bradley. Various local residents were noted visiting relatives in Waco Shamrock Fort Worth and Pampa during the period.

Firemen Extinguish Asphalt Fire at Dozier Home

Firemen were called to the Lloyd Harper home at 806 Corsicana Street Monday at noon to extinguish a pot of asphalt that had caught fire during roofing work. G C Porter thanks Dozier residents and former customers for patronage and friendship from Porter Grocery.

Family Trip Patches Makeup of Local Visitors

Children and Mr and Mrs Otis Tate and their youngsters returned home Wednesday after visiting relatives in California. Mrs John Groves Mr and Mrs Lou Harvey and Barbara were in Wellington on Tuesday of last week. Mrs Alta Harvey and children visited her parents Mr and Mrs Ben Nixon in Dozier on Thursday.
