Texans overcharged by local phone firms, report says
The Perryman Group reports Texans pay about 536.8 million dollars annually in in-state long distance overcharges. Rural and border residents bear the heaviest burden with higher rates and more time spent on in-state calls. The PUC seeks authority to reduce or end these charges and to abolish the carrier common line subsidy. Amber Devoss of Wellington is among SWOSU Pharmacy students honored at a convocation awarding the Cindy Teal Memorial Scholarship valued at 600 dollars.
