Davis Qualifies for Texas State Track Meet in hurdles
Wellington High senior Monique Davis, a repeat region champion, earned sole 2A state qualifier honors in the 100m hurdles with a time just over 15 seconds, aiming for May 15–16 in Austin. Toby Tarver also posted top regional marks in the boys events with 21'2 1/4" tjump and 11.49 100m dash.

The Shamrock Ladies Association hosted their Annual Round Robin at Shamrock Country Club on May 2 with ten teams from Canadian, Wellington, Childress, Clarendon, Memphis, Wheeler, McLean and Shamrock. Flight winners were Pat Christensen et al in first, Lindy Chapman et al in second, and Wanda Natworth et al in third in the second flight.
