Miss Rolling Plains Pageant Planned For May 6
The 2000 Miss Rolling Plains Pageant awards a $1000 college scholarship. Yanci Yarbrough hosts and will speak at brunch and preside as mistress of ceremonies. Contest divisions include Little Miss Rolling Plains, Junior Miss, and Miss Rolling Plains with entry fees and savings bonds for winners. Entries follow a 9 am registration with events including parade and interviews before the evening crowning.

Ashmore Named Wellington Football Coach for Next School Year
Superintendent Carl Taylor announced a coaching staff change for the 20-01 school year. Kurt Ashmore, current offensive coordinator and golf coach, will become head football coach and athletic director after Blair Brown leaves for Highland Park in Amarillo. BPW fund-raiser supports M D Anderson April 15
Wellington BPW hosts a walk and bike a thon on Saturday April 15 to raise funds for the M D Anderson Cancer Center. The track field event starts at 10 a.m. with donations required to participate and prizes for top donors. Ellison Park hosts the bike ride for kids with similar prizes. Proceeds benefit M D Anderson.
