Fleeting Moments From The Wellington Leader Files
A collage of items from The Wellington Leader spans March 6 1952 to March 12 1982. It notes cotton burrs returning to West Texas fields after a state agriculture lift, a Region 1-B boys basketball title for Summerwood Eagles, local school play Seventeenth Summer, highway widening on US 83, original music program at First Methodist Church, wild turkeys released in Collingsworth County, and a Wellington Invitational Volleyball Tournament upcoming. Additional notes cover Collingsworth Hospital District board elections, Father Burke’s anniversary as parish priest, bike safety Lite-a-Bike drive, and county court actions including a tax vote and forensic pathologist appointment.
