Peanut fats linked to heart health in Penn State study
A Penn State study led by Dr. Penny Kris-Etherton finds monounsaturated fats from peanuts, peanut butter, peanut oil and olive oil outperform a low fat plan for heart health. Over six months, peanut use cut heart disease risk by 21 percent versus 12 percent with a low fat diet. The Peanut Institute funded the work, and a copy of the article is available via SASE to the Texas Peanut Producers Board.
